For debate

            The main point that has been used from many cases, like the Latimer case, is that the patient was killed because he or she was suffering.  In some sense it is linked to the right of the sick person, such in the Rodriguez case.

            Another point that is often made in the courts is that even ill people should be treated with the same human dignity that a healthy person would be.  The ill person has the freedom to do what he or she wants with their body.
