What is euthanasia?

First we need to know what the definition of euthanasia is. Euthanasia comes from the Greek language.  It means good death.  Euthanasia means assisted dying, to end the life of a person or an animal in a minimal or painless death.  Death is performed in a merciful manner, in order to end the suffering of a person or animal.  Euthanasia is not intended to be an act of violence.  When you perform euthanasia on animal it is normally called “animal euthanasia”.

The current law in Canada puts euthanasia in the same category of murder, thus it is not distinguish has an act other than murder.
